East Village (west-southwest) is a neighbourhood of Vancouver, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,077 living in private households. 22.5% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 7.7%. 59.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 18.1% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 21.5% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $56,800 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 77.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.13 km², giving a population density of 3,612 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
