Cariboo (south) is a neighbourhood of Coquitlam, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 7,815 living in private households. 64.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 17.6%. 32.9% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.4% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 47.4% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $73,500 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 51.5% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.20 km², giving a population density of 3,555 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
