East Richmond is a neighbourhood of Richmond, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,467 living in private households. 70.1% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 22.6%. 28.3% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 51.0% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $92,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 52.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 43.11 km², giving a population density of 104 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
