Census Tract 0053.01 · Vancouver, British Columbia
Hastings-Sunrise (north-northwest) is a neighbourhood of Vancouver, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,701 living in private households. 53.2% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 29.8%. 44.6% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.2% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 38.2% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $92,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 36.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.62 km², giving a population density of 2,553 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
