Census Tract 0182.02 · Surrey · Vancouver, British Columbia
Surrey Centre (west) is a neighbourhood of Surrey, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 7,845 living in private households. 49.1% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 29.3%. 49.1% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.9% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 29.0% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $137,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 12.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.65 km², giving a population density of 2,955 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
