Upper Capilano is a neighbourhood of North Vancouver, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,708 living in private households. 28.5% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 10.7%. 70.5% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.0% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 30.7% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $159,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 18.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.85 km², giving a population density of 2,542 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
