Brentwood (south-southeast) is a neighbourhood of Burnaby, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,303 living in private households. 72.5% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 23.7%. 25.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.0% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 53.1% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $77,500 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 48.0% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 3.99 km², giving a population density of 1,328 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
