Capitol Hill (south) is a neighbourhood of Burnaby, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,992 living in private households. 59.8% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 36.6%. 37.9% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.2% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 45.1% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $96,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 34.1% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.32 km², giving a population density of 3,010 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
