South Surrey (west) is a neighbourhood of Surrey, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 3,000 living in private households. 54.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 28.9%. 45.5% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.0% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 40.3% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $132,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 12.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 3.49 km², giving a population density of 859 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
