Sunnyside (northwest) is a neighbourhood of Surrey, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,591 living in private households. 40.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 15.5%. 57.8% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 37.5% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $88,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 18.9% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.45 km², giving a population density of 3,169 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
