Sunnyside (south-southeast) is a neighbourhood of Surrey, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,794 living in private households. 31.9% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 13.0%. 63.3% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 4.8% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 29.8% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $80,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 22.9% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.82 km², giving a population density of 2,641 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
