Sunset (north-northeast) is a neighbourhood of Vancouver, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,213 living in private households. 84.5% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 36.6%. 14.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.1% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 55.1% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $87,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 50.3% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.62 km², giving a population density of 8,356 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
