Surrey (north-northwest) is a neighbourhood of Surrey, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 7,665 living in private households. 61.5% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 33.1%. 36.0% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.4% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 38.8% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $118,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 16.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 19.06 km², giving a population density of 402 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
