Whalley (north 2) is a neighbourhood of Surrey, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,363 living in private households. 69.4% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 21.9%. 24.5% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 6.1% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 47.4% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $62,400 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 65.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.73 km², giving a population density of 6,015 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
