University of British Columbia Vancouver (east-southeast) is a neighbourhood of Electoral Area A, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 7,309 living in private households. 73.4% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 45.4%. 26.0% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.5% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 47.6% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $57,200 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 63.8% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 9.01 km², giving a population density of 811 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
