University of British Columbia Vancouver (west-northwest) is a neighbourhood of Electoral Area A, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 8,177 living in private households. 63.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 32.8%. 34.8% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.5% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 44.6% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $70,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 52.0% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.36 km², giving a population density of 3,466 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
