Downtown Port Coquitlam (north-northeast) is a neighbourhood of Port Coquitlam, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 8,211 living in private households. 46.1% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 15.0%. 50.2% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 40.0% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $87,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 36.1% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.30 km², giving a population density of 3,569 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
