Garden Village (west) is a neighbourhood of Burnaby, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 3,768 living in private households. 71.5% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 38.0%. 25.1% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.4% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 50.6% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $102,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 33.1% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.98 km², giving a population density of 3,843 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
