Garden Village (southwest) is a neighbourhood of Burnaby, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,387 living in private households. 75.2% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 41.8%. 23.1% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 56.9% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $69,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 38.9% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.72 km², giving a population density of 7,517 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
