Smith is a neighbourhood of Maple Ridge, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 8,999 living in private households. 23.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 5.1%. 71.2% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 5.1% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 22.5% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $132,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 14.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 12.78 km², giving a population density of 704 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
