Cottonwood (east) is a neighbourhood of Maple Ridge, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,897 living in private households. 26.9% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 5.9%. 67.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 5.7% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 22.3% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $124,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 16.1% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.46 km², giving a population density of 3,349 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
