Uptown (south-southeast 1) is a neighbourhood of White Rock, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,395 living in private households. 17.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 5.4%. 79.9% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.4% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 32.8% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $58,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 34.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.49 km², giving a population density of 8,973 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
