Kelvin is a neighbourhood of New Westminster, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,420 living in private households. 46.0% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Filipino at 9.3%. 48.6% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 5.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 39.9% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $66,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 70.0% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.70 km², giving a population density of 7,709 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
