West End (east-southeast) is a neighbourhood of New Westminster, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,744 living in private households. 49.1% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 14.7%. 47.8% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.0% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 34.2% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $108,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 37.9% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.12 km², giving a population density of 4,220 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
