Brow of the Hill (southwest 1) is a neighbourhood of New Westminster, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,984 living in private households. 57.9% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 15.2%. 38.8% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 43.4% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $79,500 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 48.1% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.51 km², giving a population density of 11,821 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
