Port Royal is a neighbourhood of New Westminster, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 2,839 living in private households. 54.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 19.3%. 43.3% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.0% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 37.1% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $119,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 28.8% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.07 km², giving a population density of 2,655 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
