Steveston (north-northwest) is a neighbourhood of Richmond, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,098 living in private households. 65.4% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 40.2%. 33.6% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.0% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 49.1% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $110,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 13.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.47 km², giving a population density of 4,149 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
