Steveston (south-southeast) is a neighbourhood of Richmond, in Metro Vancouver. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 3,516 living in private households. 57.2% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 54.5% across Metro Vancouver as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 31.0%. 41.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 45.2% of the population, compared with 41.8% citywide. Median household income before tax was $96,000 in 2020, compared with $90,000 for Metro Vancouver. 41.1% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.79 km², giving a population density of 4,478 people per square kilometre (Metro Vancouver averages about 879).
